A fourth generation Montanan, Paul was raised on a wheat farm in Sunburst, Montana. Paul continued his education at Montana State University before starting work at the Farm Credit System, then First Bank/US Bank and First Interstate Bank in Missoula where he met his wife and started his family.  In 2003, Paul moved his family to Whitefish to take a job as President of First Interstate Bank.  Paul eventually left the banking industry to become the Managing Member of Great Northern Ventures LLC, a real estate development company, then in 2010 he began the role of COO of National Parks Realty.

Over the years, Paul has served on several local boards including the Whitefish Community Foundation, Whitefish Lake Golf Club, Flathead County Economic Development Authority, North Valley Hospital Foundation and Bulldog Boosters.  He played an active role in fundraising for the Memorial Field Stadium and the 2008 High School Bond Committee.  In 2012, Paul became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Glacier AERO and also was selected as Prime Minister of the Whitefish Winter Carnival where he continued to serve on the Board of Directors until 2019. While serving on the Board, he was a significant part of raising $125,000 for a new float and a tow vehicle. Because of his dedication to Winter Carnival, Paul was selected as King of Winter Carnival in 2018 and awarded the High Ullr award, the highest honor in Winter Carnival. 

 Paul enjoys being a part of such a tight knit company and is passionate about continuing his community involvement, both individually and on a company level.
